  • Best-suited scenario: wrap for a discrete, predictable trigger — a storm, a car ride, a vet visit; oral aid for a dog with a more persistent, generalized anxiety pattern.
  • Failure mode: a loosely fitted wrap performs no better than no wrap at all in the King data; an oral aid judged after two days rather than two weeks will look like it failed when it hasn’t been given a fair trial.

The strongest counterargument I hear is that layering two interventions makes it harder to know which one is working — that’s fair, and it’s why I tell owners to introduce one change at a time when possible, and to keep a simple log of triggers and responses. But for a dog whose anxiety shows up both as an acute spike and a generalized baseline, treating it as two separate physiological problems, rather than one product decision, tends to be where the biomechanics and the biochemistry actually meet.
